This moodboard shows the ideal visuals we'd like our music video to include since they're very stereotypically fitting of the indie genre. For example, the use of bright lights against a dark, shadowed background creates an 'edgy' denotation due to the darkness creating the fear of the unknown yet we associate the bright, coloured lights with being crazy, rebellious and having a good time since we typically see them in night clubs and parties. There's also images of bands at practice as this a strong idea that I think we'd like to either fully base our music video on or at least show scenes of. During these scenes we'll be using low angle shots to make the band members look dominant since the indie genre is stereotypically seen as quite masculine, therefore these shot types and scenes are conventional to the genre and reinforce it's main target audience since we live in a patriarchal society where men are dominant.
We're considering including a narrative as well as having soley performance scenes, due to the fact that our song 'Million Things' by The Stoops is based on the lead singer wanting to go to places and do fun activities without his significant other as they've fallen out / don't love each other anymore - therefore, we had the idea of the main singer going to work, leaving and then meeting up with his partner during a pause in the song where he breaks up with her breaking up with her, after this he goes off the rails, visiting night clubs and traveling, although we're unsure to how realistic this is since we don't have lots of money to spend / we don't know if we'll have access to these places.
