'The stoops' band interview
Where did the name come from?
"We all used to stand under this doorway at school which eventually earned itself the nickname 'stoop'"What genre is your music?
"Indie pop"
What song would you like us to create a music video too?
"Either 'million things' or ' love shall last'. However you'll be given a CD which you can chose a song from (as they may fit a better narrative etc)"
What overall theme would you like your music video have? e.g. Black and white, retro etc..
"Open to anything however we'll get back to you with an email of our ideas."
Who are your target audience?
"Mostly people in their 20's and older, Sheffield based, friends and family."
What's your style? How would you like to be represented?
"Were about having fun and we're very upbeat. We like the work of Two Door Cinema Club."
Is there a narrative / story line within your sings? What are they about?
"'Million things' is about all the (fun) things in the world you want to do but not with your partner, in other words they're getting sick of their other half. "
Would you like to be the actors in the video? (if so when would you be available to film?) if not, are there any specific type of actors you would like the video to have?
"We'll get back to you on this as we're unsure yet due to other band members maybe not having the time to film since they live far, however we are comfortable with being the actors if it's possible. We'd most likely to be able to film on Wednesday evenings or the weekends."
- if the band were unable to film, which is highly unlikely, I have connections with people from the SHU acting group and therefore gathering actors would not be much of a problem.
Are there any other ideas you have that you'd like to be incorporated into the video?
"Again, we'll get back to you on this however there are initial ideas such as us being filmed at practice or on a stage (have connections to stages to film on such as The Leadmill and other gigs)."
- I think we could cut between scenes of the band singing and performing between a narrative or other scenes that are more dramatic and visually appealing.
"My friend also had a quirky idea about us all being on bouncy hoppers and slowly one by one everyone was on them."
Although this will be a real music video that you can use, it'll be used for a media unit that i'm doing at collage along with my four other students. Is this ok?
"Yep that's fine."
